Hi Friends!
Every
human being living today has a great privilege and a real
responsibility. The extraordinary beauty that exists in nature and the
amazing animals that we share life on Earth must be respected and
allowed to flourish.
Various
wild animal species numbers are dwindling. Contrarily, domesticated
animals experience a problem that is exactly the opposite. Pet
Overpopulation. A simple solution? Education, Legislation,
Sterilization.
According
to The Humane Society of the United States, six to eight million cats
and dogs enter shelters in the United States each year. Three to four
million of these animals are adopted out. That means three to four
million animals are euthanized each year. These animals committed no
crime; most of them never harmed a human. They were born, plain and
simple. And animals are great at reproducing. There are a lot of
homeless
animals out there, and
without human intervention they are multiplying. There aren't enough
homes for them all.
To show my commitment to making a difference in the lives of animals in need, Creature Comforts held a pet food drive in September. Because of wonderful friends attending the event and offering support, Creature Comforts was able to make a financial contribution and pet food donation to Dr. Doug's Vet Pet Rescue. The Ladue News was kind to share the event with its readers. The photo capturing the moment of the donation to Vet Pet Rescue is attached and in the link below:

Extending heartfelt thanks to my supportive friends who believe in me while sharing a love for animals. Special thanks to those of you who attended, participated and donated to my Creature Comforts Pet Food Drive and Picnic. Wonderful to join together to help animal rescue organizations like Dr. Doug's Vet Pet Rescue "fight the good fight" to ensure animals in need have proper nutrition, shelter and ultimately a good, loving forever home.
